We work with Healthwatch Northumberland to seek the views of patients, carers and service users. The aim of Local Healthwatch is to provide a single point of contact for people to report their experiences, concerns or their compliments about health and social care.

Working on your behalf, they will make sure that your views about a service you receive – such as a visit to a dentist, doctor, hospital, day care centre or care home – are heard and acted on.

Healthwatch works to make sure the voices of people using the services are heard both locally, with organisations including the CCG and the council, and nationally.

The CCG has commissioned Healthwatch Northumberland to work with harder to reach groups in the community and voluntary sector and work has included engaging with families at Children’s Centres, visitors to country shows, SEND (Specialist Educational Needs and Disabilities) network, Action on Hearing Loss Group, Living Well Beyond Cancer Network, Glendale Mental Health Forum and the Ageing Well Network along with communities in Rothbury and Berwick upon Tweed. The feedback from this engagement is included in bespoke project reports which are shared with the relevant CCG staff and go to the CCG’s board to inform our work. They are then published on this website so Northumberland residents can see how their feedback has been used.
