Northumberland CCG’s County-wide six monthly Patient Forum has been an opportunity for the CCG to hear suggestions from the public on how future services can be shaped to best suit the local community. The event has been a chance for the public to share their experiences of the NHS and to influence the design of future local health service.
The events have been useful in gathering feedback though gradually, with the rise of new communications methods including digital channels, the Patient Forum has become poorly attended.
This issue was raised with Governing Body through the Quarterly Communications and Engagement Report which recommended that the CCG should focus on a more targeted and tailored approach to engagement using multiple channels and targeting specific audiences including surveys, focus groups, a Public Involvement Network, attending existing meetings and work with protected characteristics groups. This was agreed and this work is now being taken forward and more details on our engagement projects can be found in the Consultations and engagement and You said, we did pages.
