Laburnum Medical Group has been notified of the decision to terminate their contract and therefore will no longer be able to provide GP services and will close by 27 July 2020. The CCG took the decision to terminate the practice’s contract following a number of inspections, visits, audits and investigations carried out by the CCG and the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
These inspections identified a number of areas that show the practice has not been delivering all of the requirements of their contract, including the quality of care provided. This decision was not taken lightly. As a CCG it is our responsibility to take positive action when there are any concerns at all about quality of care provided by a practice.
As the organisation responsible for commissioning (purchasing) GP services in Northumberland, our priority is ensuring patients are able to receive care from a GP practice as close to home as possible.
We are working with other GP practices in the local area to register patients (and their families, if applicable) to another surgery.
All patients registered at Laburnum Medical Group should have received a letter from the CCG informing them of this decision and to provide them with the details of their new GP practice.
Included in this letter were some frequently asked questions which you can find here.
