Bank holiday opening times for GP practices
Thursday 21 May 2020
GP surgeries in Northumberland will be closed this bank holiday Monday in line with advice from NHS England and NHS Improvement.
NHS Northumberland Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), however, want to reassure the public that the NHS is still here for them and are reminding people if they need health advice to visit a pharmacist. They’re experts in medicines and minor ailments and you can drop in without an appointment.
Dr Graham Syers, GP in Alnwick and Clinical Chair at the CCG said: “We are continuing to monitor the situation with COVID-19 and are adapting our services to meet the required needs. Although surgeries are closed this bank holiday, anyone who needs health advice can still contact a local pharmacy, NHS 111 or for life-threatening emergencies call 999 or go to A&E.”
“We cannot thank the public enough for their cooperation and understanding throughout this very difficult time.”
Make sure you know which pharmacies are open this bank holiday. A full list of pharmacy opening times can be found here.
