Steven Mason

Steven has worked for Northumberland County Council for over 14 years. He has covered a variety of roles mainly finance based, and has been in his current role of Chief Executive for just over three years.

Prior to this Steven was Chief Executive of North Durham Healthcare Trust, Steven led the massive transfer of health services into Durham’s new £97 million University Hospital.  He joined the Trust as Finance Director in 1996 and was appointed Chief Executive in August 2001, having been Acting Chief Executive since February 2001, when his predecessor retired.

Steven is a member of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA).  He has previously worked as an accountant with BT and was Deputy Finance Director at the Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI) Newcastle.
